Winners of PAWS Sparrow Day painting competition felicitated

Powai - 17 APRIL 11 : On the event of World Sparrow Day - India, Plant & Animals Welfare Society - Mumbai (PAWS-Mumbai) in association with PLANET POWAI newspaper had organised a Sparrow Drawing Competition in which more than 100 children participated from various schools of Powai and nearby areas.
On Sunday, 10 April 2011, the winners of the competition where honored with trophies & certificates from the hands of Municipal Corporator Smt. Sangeeta Patil and Social Activist Gopinath Patil. While talking to PP reporter Smt Patil said, “I am very proud to honor these little friends and I was very surprised to see their paintings, which are not only paintings but are colored messages.”
The competition gave these children a platform to show their love for this little chirping bird sparrow, which is now-a-days, is getting driven out from the city. This event will definitely play a major role to save this bird".
