Toddler Green Warrior

Plant & Animals Welfare Society (PAWS) Mumbai honoured Hitesh Yadav, a five-year-old, with a Sparrow Friend Award 2011. Hitesh, a senior KG students of NES Sunbeam School, Bhandup, was honoured for his committed dedication to save house sparrows. He was given the award by the Honourable Governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan at the Raj Bhavan. He has rescued and saved turtles, sparrows, pigeons, Kites, Owls and a besra (a bird of prey), which won him a student membership to PAWS-Mumbai. He is also the youngest volunteer of PAWS-Mumbai. In 2009 he had received the RobinAge bright Sparks Scholarship and on the Saraswathi Vidhya Bhavan Foundation Day 2010 he received the Outstanding Student Award for being an animal activist.
